What’s the big deal with Jesus? Why is He central to all of Christianity?
Well, aside from the fact that Christianity is named after Him (specifically, his title–Christ), He is the one upon whom the whole thing rests. With Jesus, we have Christianity. Without Him, w have nothing.
The author of Hebrews starts off with describing who Jesus is. After all, the whole purpose of his writing is to tell them that “Jesus is better” than the Law.
Specifically, in Hebrews 1:1-4, he mentions these ways that Jesus is better:
-Jesus is God’s message to us
-Jesus is the heir of all things
-Jesus is the creator of everything
-Jesus is the God we can see
-Jesus is the sustainer of everything
-Jesus purged our sins
