Rep. Emanuel Cleaver ended his opening prayer for the 117th Congress with “Amen and A-Woman.” What a joke, and a sorry one at that!
While he was trying to make a pun, it was irreverently stupid. Not only is prayer not a joking matter, but it comes at a time when Nancy Pelosi has introduced changes to the House rules stripping them of all gender-specific language. Even it the joke were funny, it was in distaste for an ex-pastor and member of the House of Representatives.
