What really happened at the cross? The technical term we use is “atonement.” But what does “atonement” mean? It is an English word that literally means “at-one-ment.” In the Old Testament, the words “kawfar” and “kippur” are used. You might recognize “kippur” from “yom kippur” or “Day of Atonement.”
