During Election 2024, I saw a humorous meme floating around social media. It was a map of where kangaroo ownership is legal in the United States. I have no intention of owning a kangaroo, but I found an interesting correlation between kangaroo ownership and abortion.
What is the correlation? It is this: even if kangaroo ownership were legal in every state, that would not mean every person is going to own a kangaroo. In the same way, if abortion were legal in every state, not every person is going to have an abortion.
We need laws and politicians who will respect the fundamental God-given right to life. But laws do not perform abortions–people do. If we can change the desire to have abortion, the laws will become irrelevant.
We need to teach people the value of life and show them the atrocity of abortion. Our goal is to save the lives of babies more than to make abortion illegal.
In Election 2024, ten states literally had abortion on the ballot, and it passed in seven of those states. My hope is that those amendments will become moot because no one wants to have an abortion.
