Would Jesus really hide the truth from some people?
Apparently, He would. After all, He said it Himself.
But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.'” (Mark 4:10-12)
What do we do with this?
Jesus had just told the parable of the sower and the seeds, and He told His followers that He spoke in parables so some could understand and some could not. Why would He do this?
The answer is that many people had already determined that they would not believe, so God would continue to harden their hearts to fulfill His purposes. To explain Himself, He quoted from Isaiah 6.
In this video, we will take a deeper look at why Jesus would hide the truth from some people.
